Juicers And Apples- What Do You Need To Know?

best juicer for apples

The first thing you need to understand is that apple juice is extremely versitile. In my article on how to make apple juice at home I covered some of the uses and health benefits of fresh apple juice.

You can mix fresh apple juice with spinach or kale to make the green juice taste better.

You can also make fresh apple juice to enjoy on it’s own.

And of course, you can mix apple juice with other fresh juices such as fresh pineapple juice or carrot and celery juice.

The important thing to know is that you will get much better results when making fresh apple juice than if you were to drink pasturzed apple juice brought from the supermarket.

Fresh Apple Juice VS Store Brought Apple Juice Color

best juicer for apples

I don’t like drinking brown colored juices. And that’s one reason that store brought apple juice is not a great drink. It’s just plain ugly.

But more importantly, store brougt apple juice has been pasturized and it’s not healthy in the same way that other drinks are.

The Reviews: The Best Juicers For Apple Juice Ranked!

Go Cold Press- The #1 Best Juicer for Apples

My first choice is the Omega Vertica Juicer. The reason that I have this listed as the best juicer for apples is that it’s vertical, has a strong and slow auger design (43 RPMs, which is one of the slowest on the market) and it’s quiet.

While some people like to use a juicer that has a wide mouth to juice apples, I’m really not a fan. I do not think that it is necessary and in fact, I’d advise against it.

Wide mouth juicers are ok when you’re juicing something such as kale or spinach, but if you’re planning on putting a whole apple into the juicer, I would suggest that you think again.

This vertical juicer for apples takes up less room than some of the others out there. Also, it’s a masticating cold press juicer. That means that there will be no heat destroying the apple enzymnes.

When you see the nice light green juice come out of this juicer, you can be certain that you’re getting a nice, high quality and not something that’s full of pulp or pasturized beyond recogniton.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Slow Speed (preserves freshness)
  • Powerful Motor
  • Auger Design
  • Cold Press
  • Best Warranty
  • Quiet
  • 15 Year Coverage
Cons
  • Expensive

Cold Press Again- #2 Best Juicer for Apples- Omega 800HDS

I am a big fan of the Omega line of juicers. What I can tell you is that you’re going to get the best juice possible when using them. Not just from apples, but from all vegetables and fruits.

This model juicer from Omega is basically the same as the one above except the auger cold press design is not as slow. Also, it’s not a vertical juicer. That means that it will take up more space on your coutnertop.

However, as I’ve spoken about at length, it’s the one that I own and I simply keep it disasebleed until I am ready to use it again. This is easier than it sounds. The reason that it’s not an issue is that you’re going to want to wash the juicer after using it. So, just keep the washed pieces in your drain board, or place them in a cupboard once they are dry. Or you can even place them in a draw.

I keep the pieces for my juicer in a small draw. They fit easily and they don’t get mixed in with other materials.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • 15 Year Coverage
  • Easy to Use
  • Slow Speed (80 RPMs)
  • Quiet Motor
  • Extracts More Juice than Non-Auger Models
Cons
  • Pricey
  • Takes Up More Space Than the Omega Vertical

Hurom Brand Juice- 3rd Best Juice for Apples

The Hurom brand is available in three colors (the one shown above is Mint!). It’s vertical, which is always great for a kitchen blender.

Also, Hurom uses a specially designed materila called Ultem which is stronger than competting materials. So, you’ve got the advantage of a BPA free product and also one that is also extra strong.

PLus, this juicer is just very stylish. For folks who don’t like the design of the Omega juicers, which have a more colder, steel design, this is a great alternative.

These blenders have a more modern, homey design. The juicer above is mint color, but there are also other nice colors you can choose from.

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • BPA Free
  • 10 Year Coverage
  • Auger Design
  • Slow Motor
  • Quiet
  • Easy to Use
  • Heavy Duty Design Material
  • Built in Cooling Design
  • 3 Colors Available
Cons
  • Pricey

Extra Wide Feed Chute Juicer- Regular Style Apple Juicer

This juicer is not a cold press juicer, but it is one of the best rated apple juicers, so I figured I should address is here.

The reason that it gets such high praise and great reviews is basically for two reasons. First, it’s fast. This juicer is honestly much faster than the other juicers. You will be able to get through the apple faster than when you make apple juice using an auger. Now, I do suggest using an auger, cold press juicer if you have the time. But if you don’t want to use an auger juicer and want a faster juicer, then this is the perfect choice.

In addition to extra speed, this Breville juicer has a wide mouth. That means that you don’t have to slice up the apples as finely as you do when you use a masticating auger juicer.

Again, I’d always reccomend that you use an auger juicer should you have the time, but these are the style of juicers that are used  in stores around the country like WholeFoods, JoetheJuice, and and other stores that make fresh juice. Though alot of these are using a Zumex brand centrfigural juicer (which is a commercial grade juicer that will run several thousand dollars and is overkill for home use).

While I am not a fan of apple juicers or really any juicer that is not a cold press design, this one

Pros & Cons

Pros
  • Extra Wide Feed Chute (great for apples)
  • Fast Juicing
  • Strong Motor
  • Clean Design
  • Looks Great
  • Not Expensive
Cons
  • Not A Cold Press
  • Not an Auger Design
